Balti was invented in Birmingham during late 60’s & early 70’s, when the city’s Pakistani residents created a dish inspired by traditional Kashmiri recipes but cooked in a way that is more appealing to western tastes. Early in my career (late 70’s) i was Driving a Truck delivering to a location in Birmingham with a Balti Restaurant opposite, that Restaurant became my regular Lunch Place. as a regular i got friendly with the owner, one day owner explained part recipe and how they cooked my favourite dish. My Brummie Balti Spice Mix was created with this inspiration and a lot of trail, error and tasting.

Today i bring you this really special Brummie Balti Spice Mix for you to enjoy eating with your family & friends. It’s a great sharing dish

Product Description

The Balti originated in the city of Birmingham during the late 70s, when curry chefs started to make their dishes lighter, healthier and served faster to suit Western tastes. A true Birmingham Balti must be served in the same thin steel bowl. It is cooked in over a hot flame, as it is this “Balti” bowl that gives the dish its name,  but our Naked Indian Brummie Balti is just as good served at home  in any dish you have to hand. We recommend it’s served sizzling hot and with a naan bread to scoop up the curry and clean your bowl after!
